Occupant Dynamics

Occupant dynamics is the analysis of the motion of the occupants in a collision. Once the investigation of the collision dynamics is established we can then look into each individual occupant motion throughout a crash sequence. In some cases there many be different motions for individual occupants, and in other cases there may be multiple movements. Some of the occupant movements may be complex, and in some cases counterintuitive. An example being, if a car goes around a left hand bend the occupant movement, in relation to the vehicle, is to the right.

The basis for any opinion on Seatbelt Wearing and Driver Identity requires a level of analysis of occupant dynamics.
